How the cost estimate works

Multiply quantity by unit price for the subtotal, add tax on the goods, then add any delivery or haul fee. Use the same currency throughout. For a fuller project total, run this once per material and add the results. Remember the quantities from our other calculators already include a waste allowance, so the cost reflects what you actually buy.

Common questions

How do I estimate total material cost?

Multiply the quantity you are buying by the unit price, add sales tax on the goods, then add delivery. Repeat per material and total them.

Should I include waste in the cost?

Yes. Cost the quantity you actually buy, which should already include a waste allowance, not the bare theoretical amount.
